Monday morning, August 10, 2009, Jake and I drove to the hospital for our appointment at 7 a.m. to get induced. We had decided to induce because Jake had his thesis presentation on Wednesday morning and we were worried I would go into labor sometime then. Our due date was August 10th so it worked out perfectly. However, Ryleigh had different plans....
We arrived at the hospital at 7 a.m. and as I was getting out of the car my water broke. We checked in and I was dilated to 4cm already. My contractions started coming strong around 8 a.m. and at 9 a.m. I knew I needed an epidural immediately!! After receiving the epidural at 9:30 a.m. I was able to relax and wait until I was fully dilated. At 2:30 p.m. I was fully dilated and ready to push. I pushed for an hour and a half and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Ryleigh was 6lbs 14oz & 20.5 inches.
